Dovetail

Definition: An attractive and very strong joint formed by mating one or more angled, fan-shaped pins to correspondingly sized and shaped notches, called tails.

“Joinery of the dovetail visible from both sides is called ‘through,’ while if it is visible from one side it’s ‘halfblind,’ and not visible at all is ‘blind.”
